Re: Breaking the Fast
Thank you. It's not that I'm "ill" I just get really cranky and very sleepy when I don't eat. I can barely function. Like I said, I also get bad stomach pains. I know God understands, if I could fast I would, but it seems as if it is bad for my health at this point in time.

Re: Breaking the Fast
Thank you for this answer. I was asking becuase I've been feeling very ill lately while I've been fasting. I sometimes have problems with low blood sugar that causes me to become jittery and fatigued. I also tend to have strong stomach cramps when I don't eat (not like hunger pains). I haven't exper...

Breaking the Fast
Here's a question that I can't find the answer to.. what happens if you break the fast during the daylight hours? And not accidentally. (This is strictly hypothetical). And how does that pertain to "unofficial" Baha'is?

Re: Baha'i update-need some guidance!
Thank you for all of your support and comments. To Keyvan: I'm not quite sure why you quoted the letter to me, because we aren't living together. We barely see each other, and would it still be immoral if we had a chaste relationship? That's what was confusing to me. But I thank you just the same. T...

Baha'i update --- need some guidance!
Hello again! I posted a few months ago and I hope that the response will be the same as when I posted before. I've been doing the Ruhi course book 1 with a Baha'i in my area and the more I go, the more I love the Baha'i religion. I haven't yet signed the card or anything, but I know I will soon. Any...

Re: Marriage and Engagement
Ugh. Thank you all. It's easy for me to see what you are saying, but the depth of the situation is bottomless. Jared's father cheated on his mother and conceived a child with another woman. He has 3 siblings (two are twins) who were born within 2 months of each other. He left Jared's mother and went...

Re: Marriage and Engagement
Thanks for answering my questions. I'm still kinda in the dark though. Jared won't even talk to his biological father at all let alone to ask if he can marry me. He doesn't want his bio father to come to the wedding and asking permission would seem like an automatic invite. It's difficult for me to ...

Marriage and Engagement
Hello all! Time to start a new thread! Marriage! Yay love and such. Anyway, down to business. My fiancee and I have been engaged a little over a year now. I know that according to the Baha'i Faith, I (we) must seek permission from all living biological parent before we are married. I also heard abou...

Re: Discovering Baha'i --- Questions
"He urges you to grasp firmly the teachings of our Faith, the love of your family and many Bahá'í friends, to put the past behind entirely, realising that it can do you no more harm ; on the contrary, through changing you and making you spiritually aware, this very past can be a means of enric...

Re: Discovering Baha'i --- Questions
Wow thank you guys so much for the resources. I've got them all bookmarked and I'll probably read a good part of them tomorrow. You all have been so helpful to me. I'll continue coming to this thread to ask more questions because I know I'll have more!

Re: Discovering Baha'i --- Questions
To answer your question though, there are 9 annual holy/special days on the Baha'i calendar. If you're interested I can specify :) I know some of the holidays, but I'm not sure how they are celebrated. I know about the fast and I don't have a problem with that. I don't quite understand Ayyam-i-Ha a...

Discovering Baha'i --- Questions
Hello everyone. I'm brand new here. I discovered Baha'i recently and accidently. I recently got back in touch with God and I have been trying to find a way to worship him. Basically, I need a religion for stability. I was looking into the Islamiz faith, but I found that some of the tinyest rules (no...
