Re: "SERVANT OF GLORY" film as way to produce entry-by-troops

Yeah I just contacted my friend who did a pre-publication book 8 course to see if its included already.

I don't know if the NSA would be right for it. It would make more sense to contact someone at the Ruhi Institute yeah? Anyone have a contact for that?

Re: "SERVANT OF GLORY" film as way to produce entry-by-troops

I hope Ruhi book 8 ("The Covenant") makes mention of these quotes explaining how "on behalf of" is authoritative and approved by the pertaining Infallible Institution, and is NOT based on the personal opinions of "secretaries" - sheesh, it seems like people only downpla...

Re: House members to increase?

Thanks Brett, I knew there was something obvious in the Aqdas that I just kept overlooking. Bruce, while I agree with your sentiment in general when talking about government, there are a few differences here. I think there is a great benefit to eventually increasing the size of the House of Justice ...

House members to increase?

I just watched this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofGw03gqDH4 In it, someone asked Mr. Nakhjavani if the number of House members would increase in the future. He says that it is possible, and that it is up to when the Universal House of Justice is guided that the time is right. He ...

Re: Timely "coincidences"

Notice each World Congress seems to occur ever 29 years, and each of them ends up being a marker for a centenaries. So far they have been by choice, but as this trend follows of 29 years, it seems to be lining up with other centenaries 1963 - 100 years after the Declaration of Baha'u'llah 29 years l...

Clusters

I'm trying to get a feel for just how many clusters there are in the world, and by nation? Is there a reference for this anywhere? Maybe even how many clusters by grade (though fielding that is like trying to hit a moving target)

Lets try to compile as much info as possible.

Re: Bah'ulllahs Photographs

As I understand it, before the Internet circulation, a Covenant-Breaker published a book and included that photograph (which he somehow got a hold off). I'm guessing someone scanned that picture from that book and published it online.

Re: Bah'ulllahs Photographs

Once I was at a lecture by Fmr. Universal House of Justice Member Ali Nakhjavani, at the LA Baha'i Center. He was asked a question about this photograph that is on Wikipedia and other sites. He explained that the wikipedia photo was one the "first take" they took of Baha'u'llah. Baha'u'lla...

Re: Being forced to recant faith - excused?

Ah, thought so. It's interesting how there is a sharp difference between Dispensations. Unless, do you know of any interpretation of that quote from the Qur'an? Otherwise, any ideas on why the circumstances were different during the former Dispensation?

Being forced to recant faith - excused?

The Qur'an says: 016.106 YUSUFALI: Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. Re: TOP 10 Evidences that the Bahai faith is truth?

Mystic, what you wrote is a series of untruths, claims you thought up without thought and research and never bothered to verify. If you had actually studied the Baha'i Faith, and more sepecifically Baha'i HISTORY, you would realize your historical claims are not only false, but the points that you a...

Baha'i Community in Iraq

I was wondering if anyone has any information on the development of the Baha'i Community in Iraq since the new government came into power. I've read this 2006 link here http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/irf/2006/71422.htm, which describes how even though the new government is more tolerant, some residu...

Wife of IR Presidential candidate Mousavi quotes Abdu'l Baha

Men and women are like "two wings," she told the Tabriz University crowd at a rally on Tuesday. "A bird can't fly with one wing or with a broken wing," she said, drawing applause from the mostly student gathering. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090527/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iran_mousav...

Re: WHy a Messenger after Muhammad?

Sealing Prophethood (Nabi), was to lay forth the Administration of the Dispensation of the Quran. There was a need to distinguish this Dispensation from the Jewish Dispensation, in which after a Prophet died, the community was lead by a successive hierarchical Prophet. Since there were so many simil...

I don't agree with the whole "world is not ready" explanation ... Baha'i's bring forth a new standard, the Revelation is to cleanse mankind of primative standards of equality and bring it to the future, towards true equality. If this were the case, then the faith would be conforming to th...

Re: Women and equality?

I don't buy the "pregnancy" argument - the hard work of parenthood begins after the birth, and it is for men and women alike. If that were the reason, a minimum age would serve the purpose, but we hardly need that, since nowadays members of the UHJ are usually in their 50's or 60's when f...

I strongly disagree with that notion that one day the make-up of the Universal House of Justice will change. For one thing, by that logic of a merger of other institutions, it doesn't mean that the provisions of the make-up of those institutions will carry over, just their roles and jurisdiction. T...

Also remember, 137 O people of the Bayan! Fear ye the Most Merciful and consider what He hath revealed in another passage. He said: "The Qiblih is indeed He Whom God will make manifest; whenever He moveth, it moveth, until He shall come to rest." Thus was it set down by the Supreme Ordaine...
