Re: Any comments on teaching of Carlos Castaneda?

In any case, whoever and whatever he was, the Baha'i scriptures are quite specific that there will be no further major Divine Messenger either now or any time in the near future--meaning for at least (appoximating) the next 850 years.

There is no one beyond the nine members of the House itself.

And in fact , as I understand it, what duties do exist, such as Secretary, rotate among the members on a weekly basis.

Re: Is it appropriate for Baha'is to bow to others?

I'm reminded of how (at conferences) we all tended to stand for the entrance of a Hand of the Cause or a House member (standing tended to be optional for a Counsellor), and how much those individuals often disliked everyone's standing then. . . .

D>For instance, how do you fit Hud, Salih and Idris/Hermes into this schema? Hud and Salih are two of the Divine Messengers; no problem (though Their religions are long extinct). Idris/Hermes appears to come from Greek mythology and is not part of the sequence of recognized Divine Messengers. Peace...

I>[A] series of Prophets appeared in Persia, the last of which was Zoroaster.

While Zoroaster was indeed one of Them, He was not the last!

Two more appeared recently: the Bab, and Baha'u'llah (Who is the latest but not the last--there will never be a "last").

The interval between Divine Messengers is typically 500-1,000 years, though this sometimes varies.

The only request is that the copyright be stated when the item is republished.

The above writing on quite a few places talks about the Qur´an as something of which the Author was Prophet Muhammad. Is this belief not something which is quite contrary to the Islamic belief? If you're referring to authorship, then in fact Muhamamd dictated the Qur'an while others wrote down what...

This depends in part on the cultural background of you and your partner because the rules are currently different from Baha'is from the Mid-east. There, a 95-day limit exists on engagements; but in the rest of the world this restriction doesn't apply and longer engagements are fine! Obviously, the p...

I think the likelihood of healthy Baha'is at this stage in history practicing abstinence within marriage is virtually nil.

One thing you should NOT do is put the only copy of your will into your safe-deposit box because in some states it's sealed for a time after your death. Give it to your lawyer, the executor the will names, and/or a trusted friend instead. And one other tip: keep the burial instructions separate from...
