Re: Having girlfriend/boyfriend even though you are a Bahai?

A relationship is something that can be defined in a number of ways. If you're in a relationship to investigate one another's character, then i personally don't see a problem with it. This can have a boyfriend/girlfriend title if it really wants. Being in a relationship for physical means, i.e. swap...

Hey Guys, Got a quote here i wanted to get a bit of clarification on. Thanks to BritishBahai for sending it through to me. LXVIII. O thou who art the fruit of My Tree and the leaf thereof! On thee be My glory and My mercy. Let not thine heart grieve over what hath befallen thee. Wert thou to scan th...

Youth growing up in today's society...

I'm going to voice my thoughts for a moment and see if anyone else can relate to what I'm saying, and maybe give ideas on how they deal with it. I'm a 26 year old male living in the western world that's very caught up with the idea of free intimacy and self desires. Some days i can rise above it and...

Re:

One proof: Baha'u'llah states that if one's clothing is spotted or sullied, then his prayers will not be accepted by God. Yo, can someone verify this with a quote?! If this is true, the majority of my previous prayers has probably been rejected. lol. p.s. Sorry for rebirthing a really old thread. p...

The faith in UAE

Hey Guys, I'm considering applying for work in Dubai this year and heading over there for a year or so. I'm an Australian born Persian, and have a fascination with the middle east. Obviously because of my beliefs, exploring the middle east is a bit risky, but i really want to get a taste of it. I've...

Re: If vernal equinox falls on the 22nd...

However, I'm not sure how breaking the fast could ever be done on the 20th if one must wait until sunset of the 21st to know whether Naw-Ruz falls on the 21st or 22nd. I suppose it can be estimated in most cases. If one must wait till the vernal equinox to know whether to celebrate it that day, and...

Re: If we oversleep (miss breakfast) can we still fast?

Hummmm, if you mean stored energy in terms of glycogen, you would be depleted fairly soon. Once you have nothing to burn, the body will start to go catabolic. i.e. You will burn stored fat but you'll also burn away muscle mass. The reason why starving yourself and doing exercise is such a bad idea i...

Do we still fast on the 21st considering we celebrate Naw Ruz on the 22nd if vernal equinox occurs after sunset on the 21st?

Twice during the fast i got called for emergencies at work at around 5-6am and didn't really have time to eat. One of them, i worked from 6am right through to 8pm. That dinner was divine i tell you! The turkish food across the work never tasted so good! It really does make you think about the majori...

Re: Instinct or Subconcious

Thanks for the post Brett. It all makes sense now. What's really interesting is that I'm currently doing ruhi book 5 for junior youth, and the first book the junior youth study is breezes of confirmations. It basically discusses this idea right down to the detail. That is, God's confirmation that we...

Hummmm, i won't lie, i didn't completely comprehend your post other than inspiration itself being potentially faulty. I'm not sure exactly what "promptings of the Holy Spirit" means. I did find this quote by Abdu'l-baha: The world in the past has been ruled by force, and man has dominated ...

Instinct or Subconcious

Hey Guys, Quick question. Does anyone know of any writings based on instinct or subconscious? I've found a pilgrim note where Abdu'l-Baha discusses it as the "immovable track on which the train of life must travel" but I'm looking for other text. Just as a summary of what I'm getting at, e...

Re: Breaking the Fast

Hey Briren, the last thing God wants is for us to feel unwell due to the fast.

The law of the Fast is ordained for those who are sound and healthy; as to those who are ill or debilitated, this law hath never been nor is now applicable.

Hey guys, got a couple of questions.... Does anyone know if there's any text on whether dreams have meaning or any significance? Does anyone know if there's any text on if Baha'is are allowed to take up full contact sport professions. i.e. A professional boxer or wrestler? __________________________...

Hey Cat Lady, This post might not make too much sense as i'm slightly delusional from dehydration! ;) AdibM already commented on prayer. Hey cat lady, I'll be honest with you, the first time i ever fasted, i didn't get that spiritual feeling you talk about till after the fast. I had the same experience when i went on pilgrimage. I had heard all these stories of people being overwhelmed in the shrines. I didn't get any of that, but it...

The strips don't have any calories though. No sugar. http://www.amazon.com/Listerine-Pocket-Paks-Strips-Cinnamon/dp/B0012E3N02 In our supermarket, it's in the dental section next to the mouthwash. It's marketed as oral care. If there's no calories, the body can't use it for much, therefore you're no...
