foamy aether theory

Postby Fadl » Mon Feb 25, 2008 8:35 pm

Here is a fascinating theory for those of you who enjoy science and theoretical physics speculation. It seems that even though the aether is currently out of fashion, dark matter, zero point energy, etc. all seem to be filling in the role that aether once played.

I find this particular theory very intriguing. It also has good graphical representations to help demonstrate the concept.

Naturally, anyone aware of Abdu'l-Baha's comments about the Aether will be interested in any modern theories or inquiries into the existence or nonexistence of an Aether.

Greetings!

Ether has an additional meaning these days (long since its original meaning was refuted):

It's now used to refer to the space-time continuum generally.

Regards, :-)

The Universal House of Justice responded to a question on this topic at http://bahai-library.com/uhj/infallibil ... lbaha.html

There is also an article someone wrote (which I have not read) at http://bahai-library.com/index.php5?fil ... um_physics

Brett,

Thanks for your links! I read them both with interest, and was again reminded of and impressed by the depth and integrity present in Baha'i scholarship, and guidance from the world body. We are truly a blessed community.

I was wondering what any of you thought about the foamy ether theory. After having read the references posted here, it stills seem very interesting, and does not contradict any Baha'i teachings on the subject. Of course that doesn't in and of itself make it a good theory, but, in my opinion, it sure doesn't hurt!
