Abdu'l-Baha begins by saying he recieved August Forel's letter, to which he is replying to with this Tablet. The footnote says "2. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá is obviously referring to the letter from Forel translated above and dated 28 December 1920". Does anybody know if Forel's letter is available anywhere?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I'm almost sure I've seen it online (here I thought), but searching turned up nothing for me... It is possible I saw it in some software like Ocean...

The footnote refers to the original George Ronald Press edition of "August Forel and the Baha'i Faith". Dr. Forel's letter appears in translation on pages 1 -> 5 and was translated by Helene Neri. A commentary by Peter Muhlschlagel appears on pages 29 -> 60, also translated by Helene Neri.

Thanks so much for all your replies!

Brettz: its not available on Ocean I'm afraid.

Hmm.. I may have to buy this. The commentaries sound interesting and I think Forel's letter would provide some context to the Tablet. Anyone who have this able to give some insight?

I had that same question in my mind several months ago after giving a talk about atheism -- Forel was more or less persuaded by the tablet the master wrote to him that God exists... I wrote at the time quite a bit about Forel and the Faith on my blog, for example at:
