I have two main volunteer projects, this site and English Bay Vancouver's visitor info and hotel reviews portal. I like to think of one as my global service project and the other as my very-local service project.
My family and consider Vancouver one of the gems of North America, in terms of beauty, society, and even climate (if a bit wet), and the West End is the gemstone. EnglishBay.com is our celebration of the area, and it's actually the only web portal and for the West End. I'm building traffic for the listings and reviews for hotels, motels, hostels, and bed and breakfasts, the only public review system for Vancouver hotels, West End restaurants, and English Bay shopping.
If you're visiting the West End or just curious about Vancouver, visit the site to read about its history, recreation, maps, etc. Plus, the Winter 2010 Olympics are coming to Vancouver, and we've got the only reviewable listing of hotels in Whistler, BC.
And for Baha'is, if you're visiting then first check out the West End Vancouver Baha'i Calendar.
