IRC Dismisses as Fiction the Report of a Bahai's Execution

TEHRAN A top official of the Islamic Revolutionary Court (IRC) yesterday dismissed as fiction the report that Iran has executed a Bahai last Wednesday. IRC Head Gholamhussein Rahbarpour said, None of the Islamic Revolutionary Courts has issued execution orders for the person named Ruhollah Rouhani of Bahai sect. Foreign media quoting members of the Bahai organization in France said that 52-year-old Rouhani, father of four children, has been executed in Iran. Observers here were surprised after several responsible people including officials of the UN High Commissioner for Human rights, Mary Robinson and U.S. President Bill Clinton started condemning the 'fictitious execution' without verifying the media report.
