Lecture set on 'solemn duty' of parents to educate their children

A free lecture, "Educating Children: Every Parent's Solemn Duty," will be presented by Iraj Ayman, an internationally recognized expert on education, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Land Community College Menard Hall Room 201-202.

Ayman, of Chicago, has worked and lived in several developing countries over the past 30 years. He is on the school of education faculty at Capella University, where he specializes in the continuing education of teachers, management development and moral education.

The event is sponsored by the Springfield Baha'i Spiritual Assembly.

The lecture is the highlight of a two-day "Parenting Conference" Saturday and Sunday at LLCC. Concurrent activities for youth and children will be held, including a children's program titled "Honoring Our Parents."

All of the weekend activities are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Springfield Baha'i Center at 787-5066 or 544-9595
