  1. attacks.html The United States National Spiritual Assembly responds to two recent attacks: dissidence and graffiti. See "Conservatives Chafe..." and "Baha'i Center in Dallas..." in Journalistic articles.

  2. Baha'is and Military Service, from Baha'i News No. 88 (June 1965), briefly discusses how Baha'is may and may not serve in the armed forces.

  3. ban.bahais.iran.html is a lengthy open letter from the NSA of Iran translated and sent to the American Baha'is by the US NSA in response to the 1983 banning of the Baha'i Faith in the country. With preface by the US NSA. (See original Persian text online elsewhere.)

  4. The Basis of the Baha'i Community: A Statement Concerning the New History Society, probably authored by the US NSA in the 1940s, is a statement on Ahmad Sohrab's activities and its trademark infringement case.

  5. beckwith.2.html responds to certain allegations Francis Beckwith makes in his booklet "Baha'i." See also Beckwith's Baha'i-Christian Dialogue: Some Key Issues Considered and a letter from the Universal House of Justice on the same topic.

  6. The collection of documents in The Case of Dhabihu'llah Mahrami includes two letters from the National Spiritual Assembly.

  9. Domain names: use of by Baha'is is a directive from the UN NSA that Baha'is should refrain from using "Baha'i words" as the account name in email addresses.

  10. homosexuality.uk.html was written at the request of the United Kingdom NSA, which was "concerned at the introduction into schools of material which seemed to approve of, and even promote, homosexuality."

  11. "Human Rights are God-Given Rights," a short "Baha'i Statement on Human Rights," was written by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States for the International Year for Human Rights, 1968.

  12. Information for Baha'is called to fill out the Questionnaire on military duty under the Draft Act, dated September 17, 1940.

  13. investing.html explains some of the approaches the US Baha'i National Center uses in investing funds and offers limited guidance for individuals.

  14. natl.organization.women.html addresses whether or not Baha'is may seek membership in the National Organization of Women.

  15. nsa.race.unity.html, from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States, calls American Baha'is to "rededicate [themselves] to the glorious task of eliminating the last traces of prejudice and alienation among the races..."

  16. "Obedience to Civil Authority," a statement by the US NSA published in The Baha'i National Review 32 (August 1970), addresses the problem of whom one should obey when there is apparent conflict between the immediate civil authority under which one resides and a superior authority, such as a state or the Federal Government.

  17. Pledge of Allegiance: a letter from the USBNC's Office of Public Information re a June 2002 ruling that the phrase "under God" is violates the separation of church and state.

  18. Regional Elections announces the results of the first US Regional Baha'i Councils election (see the "reg.councils" letters, above).

  19. Spiritualization of the Baha'i Community, a three-part collection consisting of (1) a letter from the NSA of Ireland; (2) a letter from Adib Taherzadeh to the Baha'is of Ireland regarding the spiritualization of the Baha'i community; (3) the preamble for a plan of action for teaching.

  20. "U.S. Baha'is Ask Iran's President: Does His Call for Religion and Liberty Apply to Baha'is?" reports on an open letter from the US NSA to Iranian President Mohammad Khatami in response to his January 7, 1998 plea to the American public for political and religious tolerance.
