Dear Baha'i Friends,

I am a pioneer in Nepal and am responding to the need of the youth for
advanced education in the Baha'i Faith. While the community is very
involved in the Ruhi Institutes to reach the greatests numbers of the
believers and other interested people, they do not have an advanced
program for the more advanced college age and ability youth. I am
attempting to start a series of study sessions on the writings for those
who can read English.

Would any of the course materials in the distance learning program be
appropriate? We will be meeting three times a month and taking the
sessions slowly, so applying for your timelines would not be possible. I
am willing to pay the fees for the course and will then work with the
youth on those materials.

For my background, I have an undergraduate degree in Nursing from NYU
and an MPH from Columbia University. I have been living overseas since
1987, in Haifa for one year, three countries in Africa for 11 years and
now for 2 in Nepal. I have also attended Landegg Academy for the
Conflict Resolution course and took 5 of the courses there. I feel I
can handle facilitating courses for the youth and feel we need to raise
up believers in Nepal who are well grounded in the writings. I am
currently working for USAID as a technical advisor on HIV/AIDS and
Infectious Diseases.

I would appreciate your guidance on this.

With Baha'i greetings,

Catherine Thompson
