I can only remember a 14 year old boy that had crossed the boarder into the USA to find some kind of value in his life, perhaps work in the land of plenty. He lived in the streets and was without food and shelter many a nights. He could not find the work he so desired and kindness and safety were denied to him time and time again.
Some adults can manage better than the troops of children we now have throughout the planet in this same condition. They should make our hearts tender rather than indifferent.
Why must we look upon this planet, our nations, our cities as the property of a few? I was born in Puerto Rico but if I were ever given the choice of selecting a motherland for myself I would chose Mexico. Why am I being denied this option? I don't know and I don't understand the mentality behind such views. I was once told that the earth was in effect one, the only thing that seperated each land was the ocean but that if we were do dive into this fanthomless deep we would see that the earth is all connected. I can not see immigration as something bad. There is nothing utopic in wanting to live in a world where all people are important and respected. A world where there is justice for all.
