My willingness to participate in a topic on this bulletin board is only based upon whether or not I feel I have something worthy to contribute to the topic, and not what I perceive to be someone's motive.
Even if someone has bad intentions on the bulletin board, and I am not implicating anyone does, the points brought up by them may still be worthy of discussion, and can only cause us to have a deeper understanding of the teachings of our Faith, as well as the pleasant side effect of challenging and enriching the academic pursuits and insights here on the Academic Bulletin board.
Also don't forget that even if an individual thinks he/she is replying only to an individual, in actuality they are sharing thoughts with everyone who reads the bulletins here. So no matter what the intention of a started topic, in can end in a fruitful discussion for the readership as a whole.
Besides, if we always thought alike and agreed, this would be a boring and stagnant place, rather than the interesting and at times lively place of diversity and healthy debate that we love.
