Well, personally, I quite I find the debate rather refreshing. It's nice to see some life in the old bulletin board.

Looking back over the period since I became a Baha'i I now appreciate the fact that declaring ones faith in Baha'u'llah and signing the card is but the first step in a life-long learning process that can, at times, be a little painful. Letting go of the old in order to become something new and closer to perfection is a gradual evolutionary process that should not be rushed though. With time I have even found that these growing pains can confer a sense of joy, a joy that comes with the knowledge that one is progressing. It's okay to be wrong and make mistakes as long as we are able to admit it once we realise that this is the case and not insist. Be patient and don't be afraid of the pain, saver it!

This is not quite the response to Nick's message that I had planned. I hope it is, nonetheless, relevant and helpful in some way.

Mike
