| abstract note | Twentieth century struggles for social change included many that were characterized by non-violence and civil disobedience. The Iranian Bahá’í community's non-adversarial approach to social change occurred under under conditions of severe persecution and oppression. Social change literature has paid scan attention to this non-adversarial model.
