| Abstract | "...The Bahaí' (sic) meetings in Paris have attracted a very eminent following, both of the savants and of many of the titled aristocracy, and including, also, prominent members of the American colony. The most concise and adequate presentation of the essential faith of this cult was given in a paper read before the Religious Congress held in Oxford in September, 1908, when the essayist thus condensed the salient data of Bahaism... [The author purports to quote the paper read in Oxford (September 18, 1908), however it appears to paraphrase rather than quote the address. See 11.877: "International Congress on the History of Religions (3rd). Transactions," 1908: Rosenberg, Ethel: "Bahaism, Its Ethical and Social Teachings", pp. 321-325.] The author ends with the following: "Paris is rather the centre of this cult which is also increasing in the United States." |
