Notes The entire manuscript was produced on a typewriter, the title of which was typed on a 5-1/2" x 2-1/2" sheet of paper glued to the front cover of each volume, or of "Part I" and "Part II." Only the following appears on the first hand-typed page of Part I where the title page might otherwise appear: "Compliments of the National Bahai Archives and History Committee. October 23rd, 1944. (This gift is made possible through the kindness of Miss Elma MacPherson of Detroit who has typed several copies of our only English translation of Mahmood's Diary.)"
Page 501 (of Part II) ends with the following by the author: "A record of the events during the travels in the countries of Europe until His arrival in Palestine are printed in Volume Two of this book." [Apparently volume 2 was never published in Persian or English]. Page 502 (the last page of Part II) appears as follows: "COMPILER'S NOTE : A thousand thanks and praises for the confirmations of the Beauty of Abha and the favors of the Dawning Place of the Supreme Covenant, that this humble servant was assisted in the compilation of the first volume of the 'Book of Wonderful Signs.' He wrote it with his own hand and submitted it in 1332 Hajira (near the end of 1913) in the Court of Abdul Baha (May my soul be a sacrifice at the feet of His friends who are firm in the Supreme Covenant!) In the beginning of 1914 he was commanded to go to India and to publish the book. Thanks are due to his spiritual friends, Jenab Jawanmard Ghushtasab and Mehtar Isfandiar Brhram (sic), who defrayed the expenses of printing the book in the same year in Bombay, India. Mahmood Eben Ismail of Zarqan, Persia."
