| Notes | Bahá'í Faith: pp. [6-7] The front cover includes the subtitle, "Self-Indexed Information for Laymen." Zaspel's account of "Baha'ism" is derived from The Chaos of Cults by Van Baalen. He claims that the Bible condemns the Bahá'í Faith (Matt. 24:24,26 re: false prophets) and he concludes with the following: "Baha'ism has a great affinity to present day Liberalism that abounds in many of our churches with its emphasis on 'tolerance at any price' and Love. A sick, silly love. To love good you must Hate that which is sinful and evil." He writes that the Bahá'í House of Worship in Wilmette (dedicated in 1953) "...is not yet finished and already, the cost has been $895,000." However, page [25] reveals that the booklet was written, and likely published, "a few years" after the death of Rev. John C. O'Hair (1876-1958). The author is an "Evangelist, Pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Bartonville, Illinois," a self-professed "Christian fundamentalist" who believes that the Bible is "inerrant, inspired and infallible." He condemns the likes of Billy Graham, whose doctrine is "void of Moral Stamina and falters in the face of the great conflict of apostasy." [as of Dec. 2004, lives in PA] |
