The MWL (Rabita al-Aalam al-Islami) was founded by King Faisal bin Abd al-Aziz of Saudi Arabia and regarded as the "nerve-centre of the Islamic movement." The article, "News from the NWL Headquarters," constitutes the Resolutions and Recommendations of the first Conference of the World Muslim Organizations in Mecca (Motamar al-Munazzamat al-Islami) held April 6-10, 1974. The Conference resolves that the Bahá'í Faith, being an 'aberrent cult' and a danger to Islam, should be presented as "a heretic group which does not believe in the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah and which has nothing to do with Islam." It's final resolution among others: "To ban all Bahai activities in Muslim countries, to close down its centres and to stop the infiltration of their books and pamphlets into the Muslim world."
