abstract	The first message addressed by the Universal House of Justice to the peoples of the world. Released in October 1985 to mark the beginning of the United Nations International Year of Peace and presented to many heads of state, heads of government, leaders of thought, and dignitaries. The statement analyzes the paralysis of human will that has prevented the establishment of peace, some of the causes of war, and the steps necessary to reach permanent cessation of hostilities.
notes	Repeated printings have been done in both England and the United States. Aside from the statement indicating "printed in the United States" or "printed in England", there is no other mark identifying date of printing. All are identical in typeface, number of pages, and cover. See 6.20, 6.23-6.24, 6.26-6.48, 6.52, 6.55.
