abstract	New reproductive technologies present ethical challenges to religious believers. In order to distinguish beneficial from harmful applications, believers should be guided by religious teachings and be aware of current scientific knowledge. The article outlines relevant principles from the Baha'i writings and suggests that Christians and Muslims may identify similar principles in their own texts. The article describes medical procedures in assisted conception and ethical issues. The author argues that an absolute position on this issue needs to be avoided as scientific knowledge is relative and will change in the future.
