| Abstract | The authors quote from Bahá'u'lláh and from Shoghi Effendi's The World Order of Bahá'u'lláh at the beginning and ending of the article. The authors define the economic dimension of the New World Order as "greater levels of efficiency, equity and equilibrium based on collective action to satisfy humanity's material, social and spiritual needs and aspirations." The research thesis is that economics must transition to a universal paradigm by opening itself to other paradigms, updating its roots, combining western and traditional knowledge, and balancing normative ethics with positive objectivity. Economists should adopt an interdisciplinary approach to socio-economic evolution; include non-western traditional knowledge; and include new dimensions in physics and psychology. |
