| Abstract | The author undertakes an analysis of Shoghi Effendi's education and language acquisition, as well as the structure, literary influences and place of The Hidden Words in Arabo-Persian literature. Shoghi Effendi's objectives in translating the work affected his English renidition. Four major norms were employed by Shoghi Effendi: (1) interpretation ; (2) elevation ; (3) beautification ; (4) euphonization of the text. |
