abstract This paper is to compare Bahai Faith with Unification Church in terms of peace thought. After the tradition of prophets started from Judaism, Bahai Faith came from Islamic tradition and Unification Church from Christian tradition. But their peace thoughts play a role of non-violent resistance against religious majority groups such as main line Muslims and Christians, who regard them as 'heresies.' First, the prophetic tradition of Abraham were divided into two streams of Issac and Ishmael: Judaism and Islam. Therefore, the Hebrew Bible and the Quran confirm that Messiah or a new prophet will come back to the world. The Christian Bible promises that Counsellor will come after Jesus' resurrection and ascension and that Jesus will come gain on the final day. These terms make it possible for new religious leaders to proclaim themselves as 'new prophets.' Second, the peace thought of Bahai faith is based on 1 the oneness of God, 2 the oneness of humanity, 3 the oneness of religions. Bahai believes that there is only one God behind various gods including Brahma, Yahweh, Buddha, God, and Allah. Though human beings are different in terms of culture, language, and race, humans are the same. Religions should become one religion in the future. Different manifestations of God transmitted truth to different ages, but Bahaullah offers the best teaching to this day. Bahais claim the spiritual evolution through gradual revelation, seeking ultimate truth as pilgrims. Third, the peace thought of Unification Church consists of 1 the unity of True Parents, 2 the unification of humanity, and 3 the congruence of religions. Moon Sun Myung argues that the Kingdom of Peace should be built on the earth under the guidance of True Parents. In conclusion, two new religions construct the similar unity of God, humanity, and religion in their dogmatics. Bahai Faith emphasizes the relativity of its own truth, but Unification Church teaches the ultimate value of its own truth.
