abstract This article explores how the educational activities for peace promotion carried out by Laura Dreyfus-Barney at the International Council of Women, alongside institutions linked to the League of Nations and through her association with the Baháʼí Bureau in Geneva, were linked to her Baháʼí beliefs. It outlines the Baháʼí perspective on universal peace and global society creation, and underlines the importance that Baháʼís assigned to education in the transformation of individuals and society towards the achievement of world peace. This article lays out the Baháʼí viewpoint, according to which the League of Nations was considered a progressive instrument, which nevertheless fell short of establishing world peace. It profiles women associated with the International Baháʼí Bureau in Geneva, in order to highlight the link between geographic mobility extolled by internationalism, and the Baháʼí belief that the earth is in fact a single country.
