abstract	This book presents the Italian translation of 70 poems by Tahereh, a 19th century Iranian pasionaria and mystic, grouped according to the metric form, starting from the shortest to the longest. In her verses the poet bears witness to the discovery that she has revolutionized her existence. She met a new Master who, with his life, his preaching and his writings, gave her a glimpse of the coming of a new Day, a day in which tyranny will be defeated by justice, conflict will be replaced by love, the sensual exteriority and falsehood prevalent in the world will recede to give way to spiritual interiority and sincerity. The poems are full of learned references to Islamic mysticism and for this reason they are accompanied by explanatory notes and preceded by an introduction to her thoughts and her fascinating language. Tahereh was born in Qazvīn around 1817. Such was her intelligence that her father exceptionally allowed her to study. Coming into contact with Siyyid 'Alī Muḥammad known as the Bāb, she adhered to the Babism he founded and his revolutionary doctrines: from the metaphorical reading of the Scriptures to equal rights between men and women, from the abolition of slavery to the criticism of the clergy, considered responsible of the country's backwardness. For her courageously proclaimed ideas, in 1852 she was imprisoned and murdered in Tehran. She wrote profound theological treatises and many poems in Persian and Arabic, some of which have come down to us.
