| Abstract | Amidst the rise of intolerant attitudes, particularly in Yogyakarta, the Baha'i Faith stands out as a religion that upholds the values of tolerance. Baha'i adherents are able to protect themselves from a diverse society. The Baha'i Faith in Yogyakarta is a minority religion, yet in their daily lives they are able to create a peaceful and harmonious life. Thus, the Baha'i Faith is an example of a religion that fosters attitudes of tolerance. Harmony between Baha'i adherents and the multireligious community is evident in at least two ways: first, in the patterns of relationships among Baha'i adherents. Second, the reality of harmony is reflected in the community's social environment. The Baha'i community in Yogyakarta is actively involved in various social and religious activities, and upholds attitudes of religious tolerance, cooperation, and togetherness. The purpose of this study is to determine the harmony of theodicy within Yogyakarta society. The methods used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. This research uses the social construction theory proposed by Peter L. Berger. The research problem is formulated as follows: What is the profile of Baha'i adherents and the relationship of theodicy knowledge established between Baha'i adherents and the multireligious community in Yogyakarta? What efforts have Baha'i adherents made to build an accommodating social space with the multireligious community toward harmony in Yogyakarta? The relationship of theodicy knowledge between Baha'i adherents and the multireligious community can foster a harmonious society, created through the creation of numerous spaces of tolerance with religious and social nuances. These spaces make the greatest contribution to shaping a harmonious society. The relationship of theodicy knowledge established by Baha'i adherents and the multireligious community can foster harmony and peace within the Yogyakarta community. This relationship of theodicy knowledge encompasses three aspects: theology, social relations, and humanitarian relations. The results of this study demonstrate the importance of building an accommodating social space within the relationship between Baha'i adherents and the multireligious community toward harmony in Yogyakarta. In this regard, Baha'i adherents engage in four activities to foster harmonious spaces within the multireligious community: children's classes, youth classes, communal prayer, and study groups (institute ruhi). |
