| Abstract | This issue entitled Estudios Sociales Bahá'ís aims to fulfill two objectives. The first and simplest involves analyzing some contemporary problems, which will be described below, from an innovative perspective, taking as reference sources both science and one of the great contemporary religious traditions that has grown the fastest in the last century: the Bahá'í Faith. The second and more complex objective represents an attempt to apply the conceptual framework that guides the Bahá'í community's efforts to contribute to social change to social research. The conceptual framework referred to is neither a scientific theory, nor a normative ideology, nor the Bahá'í religion as a whole. It is a conceptual matrix, inspired by the Bahá'í writings, composed of approaches and methods, principles and notions that seem to have been useful, in action, in contributing to social betterment. |
