| Abstract | Currently, various studies corroborate the positive relationship between subjective wellbeing and religion; however, the literature on investigations of these constructs has been produced based on North American and Christian-origin samples. This research is to study a different religion such as the Bahá´í Faith, which can contribute to understanding the relationship between subjective well-being and religion. To this end, this research proposes to identify the emic categories of goals in a Bahá'í sample from Peru. For this, a form with an open response alternative was created and adapted based on the In Depth Interview Protocol of Emic Components of Well-being (ECB). A total of 51 responses were obtained and the most frequent goal categories were: Service; Behaviors consistent with the Bahá'í Faith; Closeness to God; Spirituality; and Give love, receive love and let there be love. The discussion presents the Bahá'í point of view on these categories and analyzes their relationship with other research. The results reinforce the idea that religions share common goals, each one from its religious particularities. |
