Abstract	Though the Qayyūm al-Asmāʾ is certainly not the earliest writing by the Báb it is the earliest datable text which actually mentions these two names, Yaʾjūj and Maʾjūj. Given the intensely eschatological focus of both the Bābī and Bahāʾī scriptures, it is more than passing curious that there is very little direct concern with Yaʾjūj and Maʾjūj in the writings of the Bahāʾī Faith. In what follows, we will discuss in detail only the single passage in the Báb’s Qayyūm al-Asmāʾ that mentions the two dreaded tribes and offer some conclusions pertinent to a general Bahāʾī understanding of the Qurʾānic topos.
