Abstract Bahá’u’lláh (1817-1892) has gone down in history as the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, a religion that is little known because it is so recent, but is already widespread throughout the planet and is constantly growing. This does not prevent him from being recognized as a great Persian writer of the 19th century, author of a multitude of mystical and social works that he wrote after spending months in a deep dungeon in Tehran and during the 40 years he lived in successive exile until he died in the
Holy Land. In his mystical and theological texts, which have been translated into hundreds of languages, he emphasized the unity of God and religions. His conviction that humanity is one body prompted him to send letters to the political and religious leaders of his time urging them to disarm and create international institutions to ensure lasting peace, such as a world parliament, an auxiliary language, and an international court of justice.
Bahá’u’lláh’s social approaches may have seemed utopian in his time and even more so in the context in which he lived, but history has demonstrated their validity and the urgency of following their guidelines to avoid the collapse of the human race and achieve the New World Order that he advocated.
