Abstract	We can only lead an authentic and meaningful life that we can look back on later with satisfaction if our worldview adequately reflects reality. A mature worldview is much more than the accumulation of facts and experiences. Whereas in the past there was primarily a lack of scientific insights, today it is above all the enormous wealth of information and opinions that obstructs our view of essential findings. It is therefore not surprising that people's views on fundamental questions of life differ considerably. Building on this methodological basis, essential philosophical concepts are explained in the light of current scientific and religious knowledge, which should not be missing as necessary cornerstones in any mature worldview.
