Abstract	The importance of intangible cultural heritage in the definition of cultural heritage has increased in recent years. Among such definitions of heritage, which refer to the contribution of historical events, traditions and customs, produced works and traditional accumulations to the place, in addition to the physical characteristics of the heritage, the areas that have the strongest ties with the intangible cultural heritage are undoubtedly the places to which sanctity is attributed. In particular, areas where beliefs and teachings that spread to large masses are produced and are strongly associated with faith and teaching leaders cannot be evaluated separately from intangible cultural heritage. In the study, the cultural heritage of Hacı Bektaş Veli Complex, which was inscribed on the Turkey UNESCO Temporary List in 2012, was discussed, emphasizing its strong ties with the Bektashism belief and the role it played in the emergence of the belief. In this context, heritages registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List, expressing the environment in which beliefs or teachings emerged under the leadership of a leader, were researched, and the definitions of world heritage areas and buffer zones were examined. The researched heritages were compared with the social complex. In the definition of such heritages included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, large or multiple world heritage areas and/or buffer zones containing many structures are selected, and Hacı Bektaş Veli Complex is defined as a very small and limited world heritage site on its own in this context. It was concluded that it may cause However, it has been observed that the significant accumulation of cultural heritage in the immediate vicinity of the social complex, which contributed to the formation of the Bektashi belief, creates the potential for an area definition that is more compatible with similar examples on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
