| Abstract | "Babism and Bahá'ism are new religious movements born within the 19th century Shiite society. Although Bahá'ism is generally seen as a continuation of Babism, it turned into a separate movement from Babism after the execution of Bâb Mirza Ali Muhammad, the founder of Babism, and introduces itself as a divine new religion sent to humanity. Although Bahá'íism emerged in Iran, it has grown rapidly and spread to almost every region of the world today, and is shown as one of the religious beliefs that gain supporters the fastest. In this respect, research on Babism and Bahá'ism is important in order to get to know these new religious movements. A lot of research and publications have been made about Babism and Bahá'ism in the West. However, studies on these religious movements are still very few in our country. The main purpose of this book is to examine the Babism and Bahá'ism movements, which are closely related to each other in historical and religious terms, through their historical processes, religious principles and teachings, main worships, institutions and some traditions. The most important feature that distinguishes the book from other publications about Babism and Bahá'ism is; Many issues regarding the principles of belief, the basic principles of the movement, its worship and religious tradition are handled by focusing on al-Kitâbü'l-Akdes, which is considered the holy book of Baha'ism. The book will make a significant contribution to both the academic and general reader's knowledge about Babism and Bahá'ism and getting to know these two religious movements with their historical, religious and cultural aspects." |
