Abstract	"Elsie Austin was the first African-American woman to graduate from the University of Cincinnati School of Law in 1930. She went on to become the first African-American woman to serve as assistant attorney general for the state of Ohio, and for a decade afterward, she was a foreign service diplomat for the US Information Agency, with cultural and educational projects in several African countries. In 1934, she became a member of the Baha'i Faith and traveled to Africa to help teach the Faith. This book gives an account of her life based largely on interviews with and talks given by her.
