| abstract note | "One day we went to a Baha'i temple, where the students watched several impressive slide shows regarding the Baha'i faith and its tolerance and respect for people of all belief systems, as well as their hallmark outreach to and inclusion of people of all races and ethnicities. My students were enthralled by the presentations - they wanted to embrace an increasingly diverse world, and this aspect of the Baha'i faith had special appeal for them and generated much discussion. Yet on the way home, when I asked them if any of them would ever have any interest in pursuing the Baha'i faith, I was surprised that not one of them was interested!" The students explained that respect for diversity is simply a part of the mature faith in any faith tradition, and the Baha'i faith still teaches that its own revelation is unique and better. |
