abstract noteThis research stems from the researcher's interest in the Baha'i religion in Surabaya. The existence of the Baha'i religion is not widely known to the public, even though it has spread to several regions in Indonesia. In Surabaya, Baha'i followers are found in several areas, including Pucanganom Timur, Tandes Kidul, and Manukan. Therefore, the problems investigated in this thesis are: 1) How is the existence of the Baha'i religion in Surabaya?; 2) How do Baha'i followers maintain their existence in Surabaya? The objectives of this research are: 1) to understand the existence of the Baha'i religion in Surabaya; 2) to understand how Baha'i followers maintain their existence in Surabaya. To address these issues, the researchers used a qualitative research method with subjects selected using snowball sampling. The research stages included pre-fieldwork, fieldwork, data analysis, and report writing. In qualitative research, data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, literature review, and online data. The theory used was Talcott Parsons' AGIL model. Talcott Parsons' AGIL model focuses on the change and continuity of a system. According to Parsons, society as a social system has at least four functions for a particular system of action or system needs. These functions are essential for the social system to function properly. These four functions are called AGIL. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Baha'i religion in Surabaya is quite well-known to the community. Those who are familiar with the Baha'i religion understand its presence in their area. Baha'i followers have two or three reasons for practicing the Baha'i faith: 1. Due to family tradition or doctrine, 2. Personal choice, 3. Teachings or influence from friends. The presence of Baha'i followers is not a problem for the community. The community accepts their presence and maintains good social relations with them. The Baha'i religion maintains its existence through several ways: 1. Holding children's classes, 2. Discussions with other religious communities, 3. Inviting the community to Baha'i events.
