abstract noteInfluence of religious identity on discourses of national belonging for Iranian emigrants in the diaspora. Second generations Iranian Muslims in the diaspora, representing the majority religious population of the country, are alienated from the Islamic Republic but have a desire to return to Iran. The Baha'is' status as a persecuted minority leads them away from Iran. The research was undertaken among Iranians in London, Sydney, and Vancouver.
