abstract noteDiscusses how difficult it can be for Bahá'ís to relate to the heroes/heroines of the Faith, because of how they are portrayed in our literature. They are represented as larger than life, people who miraculously just did great things. The author suggests that this can have a negative effect on the confidence of Bahá'ís. She argues that we need to be more honest, recording our spiritual struggles so others can relate to our experience. She cites examples of ordinariness already recorded, and encourages others to write about themselves undeterred by feelings of ordinariness.
