abstract noteThe chapter on Bahá'u'lláh is riddled with errors including: stating that Bahá'ís recognize "five stations of Prophet-hood" (the Báb, Bahá'u'lláh, 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Shoghi Effendi, and the Universal House of Justice) whereas only the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh are "Prophets" or Manifestations of God; mixing up Bahá'u'lláh and His father with 'Abdu'l-Bahá in one paragraph, making it appear that Bahá'u'lláh traveled to establish the Divine Plan and then returned to Palestine (a possible poor edit that removed information about 'Abdu'l-Bahá from the paragraph); confusing the recognition of the previous dispensation with the idea of syncretism, stating that the Bahá'í Faith "assimilated beliefs and practices from other previous faiths"; suggesting that it is too early to know if the Bahá'ís will be able to "establish a separate and permanent group or movement" (it is already clearly established as a world religion separate from the religions that preceded it). In its simplification of Bahá'u'lláh's life and teaching, the work is imprecise and obscures important ideas, even going so far as to create misapprehensions when stating in an odd phrasing that "it denounces prejudices against race, sex and religion."
