abstract note"This research explores the al-Babiyah and al-Bahaiyah sects in the context of deviations made in interpreting Al-Qur’an verses. Al-Babiyah and al-Bahaiyah are two new sects that emerged in the Persian region (Iran) in the 19th century. The two sects claimed thet they were in a prophetic position and received revelations from God, resulting in different holy books and different teachings. Of course, the differences come from the interpretation they make of the Qur'an. Through this study, a literature approach is used to obtain comprehensive data and the results are presented according to the analysis in the form of descriptive analysis. From this research, the results can be seen that Babiyah and Bahaiyah sects in interpreting the Qur'an have distorted the meanings from what they should be, without a strong basis and are very weak and dangerous for people who are weak in faith. This is what makes them a type of al-Dakhil interpretation. Based on these findings, it is hoped that it will bring new insight into the deviations carried out by religious sects regarding the interpretation of verses of the Qur'an which is to legitimize their sect.
