abstract note	Reply to a review of In Iran (Studies in Bábí and Bahá'í History ; v.3) by Juan Cole in theBulletin of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies. MacEoin's contention is that the review was both unfair to his contribution to the book under review, and misleading about the biases operating in scholarship on Babism and the Bahá'í Faith. He warns academics that the Bahá'í community will sabotage academic freedom by attempting, "through conferences, publications and, finally, university appointments, to influence the course of academic work on their faith."
