abstract noteOf all the factors of production man has and plays a pivotal role in areas of productivity and quality. While lack of attention to other non-living factors may result in reduction of profitability to some extent, ignoring the human resources can prove to be disastrous. Broadly speaking, Human Resource Development is referred to all the activities which direct in building individuals or groups to bring positive contribution in development of an organization or a country which includes education, training, skill development, etc. This thesis seeks to study the impact of Baha'i Institutions on Human Resource Development in context of training being given through two Baha'i Institutions in Indore (Barli Development Institute for Rural Women and Training Institute). From among many in the world, the study covers Baha'i Institutions which are particularly in Indore, Madhya Pradesh (M.P.), a state known as home to the largest number of Scheduled Tribes (STs) in India and is often called "the tribal state of India". The study looks into vital dimensions of Human Resource Development —Economic, Social and Spiritual Development. The field work was conducted in M.P. various tribal villages in district of Khargone, Dhaar, Bheekangaon, Zirnia and Barwani from where the trainees of Barli Institute come from. 150 trainees were interviewed through a structured interview schedule. Similarly, 150 trainees from Training Institute from different towns and cities i.e., Indore, Kasrawad, Khargone, Bhopal, Gwalior, Rewa and Stana were covered and interviewed through structure questionnaire. With reference to the trainees of Barli Development Institute for Rural Women the criteria of social and economic variables varied as the nature of training given in both the institutions were different. Based on same guiding Principles of the Baha'i Faith these institutions served at different levels of the society. Access to education, skill development, exposure to new knowledge and spiritual development in terms of building good character and habits has shown a vast change taking place in the trainees of Barli Institute who entered the institute in a raw state and left the institute equipped with all the above abilities and increased knowledge and capacities. These trainees being from tribal backgrounds exhibited the characteristics of tribal life like poor living condition, lack of awareness about health, large families, dependence on agriculture, dominance of men as head of family, illiteracy, lack of motivation towards education, females deprived of opportunities to earn, etc. With such conditions and background empowerment through skill learned , practice of healthy habits , awareness and spiritual insight help them live a better life and also helped them raise the standard of living of their families back in villages .The trainees of Training Institute established a strong base for making people bring in change not only in their life but also life of the people by engaging in purposeful activities like Children Moral Classes , Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program and conducting Study Circles. The study clearly reflects how these institutions have been contributing in building human resource development and are positively contributing in requirement for the future of a better nation and world. The development of human resources at the grass roots builds a strong foundation for the country and for the world. Such training programs should be made available to wider society at large so that, much more people can be developed with a wholesome human resource development that does not pertain only to skill development , education and brining in change and meet objective of an organisation but at the same time should be able to develop individuals as a quality human resources who will bring positive change in the life of an individual, society and nation at large.
