abstract noteResponse to Muhammad Afnán's and William S. Hatcher's "Western Islamic Scholarship and Bahá'í Origins", item 11.30. MacEoin asserts that the reply by Afnán and Hatcher was an apologetic work of Bahá'í "fundamentalism" in academic guise. He iterates a number of issues relating to review of Bahá'í publications, the place of revelation in Bahá'í thought, and what he sees as the essentially authoritarian nature of the Bahá'í administration. All of these arguments are repeated throughout successive articles on this subject.
