| abstract note | The author applies a characterization of "seekership" in the study of Danish Bahá'ís. Conversion stories of 88 respondents to Bahá'í advertisements indicate that nearly all could be defined as "seekers." The proportion of seekers among proselytes partly depends on the teaching strategy used. These seekers remarried more often than non-seekers, suggesting that the notion of "seeker" may have general sociological application outside of religion. |
