Thornton Chase, Arthur and Mary Agnew with their son Rahullah and 17 year old Carl Scheffler arrived in Haifa to begin their pilgrimage on the 8th of April. Unfortunately their pilgrimage was cut short when a telegram arrived stating that the Governor in Beirut learned of the presence of the American visitors. They left on the 16th of April.
