Re: (VIDEO) a mullah in a mosque talking about the bahais
I personally think it is wrong to generalize any group of people as being good, or being bad. It does disservice to the individual of any group in society. I don't think this sermon is very new. A Persian Baha'i played me a sermon just like this over two years ago, and translated it for me while it ...

I had heard that story too, albeit with some different details. But hey, that's how oral recounts happen to play out much of the time. I don't have dreams about spirituality often, which is strange because I'm always thinking about it in my waking hours. (I would think that would influence's one's d...

It was just a dream I had. I was having some problems, and someone told me in my dream that there was this prayer that the Bab' said, but you had to hear it 19 times before you recited it yourself... I don't put much credence on dreams (on matters like these, I mean) but I wanted to ask anyway just ...

I have a question whether or not a prayer like this exists?
I won't go into detail as to why I'm asking this question, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a Prayer or a Writing from the Bab' that says a person should hear it 19 times before they recite it themselves... I doubt it would be in any English translation, but I was wondering if such a thing woul...

Baha'i "Wish" Prayers? What are they?
Allah-u-Abha I was on another Baha'i Forum and someone started a topic about a Baha'i "Wish" prayer that you say a certain amount of times and make a wish and it is supposed to come true. The author of it posted the one he was talking about, but said there were several. Does anyone know more about t...

Thanks Jonah, I have a question. In the Schools of Thought that most of the Muslims were in at school, I could not sit next to a woman, we had to sit at opposite sides of the table, and we could not shake hands. Some Muslim women didn't mind sitting next to men or shaking hands with them, but they t...

Re: Meaning of "Ridvan"
Baha'is all "know" that Ridvan means Paradise. But an Arab student of mine says that's wrong. So I have searched Arabic and Muslim glossaries and tried to find proof of the link between these terms--to no avail. Do we have any Arabic etymologists who can shed light on the question? Charles Allah-u-...

Thank you for the recommendation, Dawud, but I agree with Jonah on this. The comparison of this is like telling a new Muslim to go to http://www.Muhammadanism.com to learn about "true" Islam, which in reality is nothing more than distorted facts from Christians to make Islam look bad.

The context is very important to the verse in the Qur'an that says "They killed him not". This verse was not addressed to Christians, and pointing out the error of their ways of believing that he was killed, but it was to Jews of Medina who were insulting Jesus by saying that they killed him. Then t...

What Language was the Long Obligatory Prayer Revealed In?
Allah-u-Abha I'm a new Baha'i and I come from a Muslim background so I am used to saying my obligatory prayers in Arabic. I like to say the Long Obligatory Prayer because ir reminds me of how I used to Pray, but reciting it in English doesn't have the same effect on me as does Arabic or Farsi. So I ...

Thank you. Now, if I could only find those sources. It amazes me. The internet is so huge, but the only sources I can find when the Baha'i Scriptures quote something from Islamic Scriptures, are Baha'i Scriptures themselves on the internet. Oh well. There's nothing wrong with digging through books. ...
