ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

The 62nd Irfan Colloquium in English will take place at the Center for Baha’i Studies in Acuto, Italy, July 8-12, 2005. This notice serves as a general announcement and call for papers.

About the Colloquia
The Irfan Colloquia started in 1993 and have continued to be held annually in North America and Europe. The aim and purpose of the Irfan activities are to foster systematic studies of the scriptures of the world's religions from the Bahá’i perspective and to promote scholarly studies in the sacred writings, verities, and fundamental principles of the belief system of the Bahá’i Faith. Some of the sessions of the conference will be given over to the theme of the conference, "Mysticism and the Baha'i Faith," but scholars are invited to submit papers on other subjects related to the overall purpose of these conferences. For more information on the Irfan Colloquia, please see the following website: irfancolloquia.org

Please send paper titles and proposals either to Dr. Moojan Momen: momen@northill.demon.co.uk or Dr. Iraj Ayman: iayman@ameritech.net

About the Acuto Centro Studi Bahá’i:
The Centro Studi Bahá’i is situated in the hills approximately 60 kilometers south of Rome, in a beautiful and picturesque setting. It is accessible by train and bus from both airports in Rome. Depending on the number of participants arriving before 4:00 pm on July 8th and leaving together on July 12th, airport transportation may be arranged. The package price, including accommodation, full board and Irfan publications, will be Euro 200.00. You can combine your attendance at the Colloquium with attendance at the Persian-language Irfan colloquium which immediately precedes this (1-7 July, 2005) or you can extend your stay for sightseeing and trips to Rome after the colloquium. Travel to Rome can now be quite inexpensive. For example, several "no-frills" airlines now fly to Rome and offer very low fares.
