Hi,
I was quite surprised to find that Dr. Steve Lambden has undertaken to translate the whole of the Qayyumu'l-Asma into English. It would certainly be a first. I have to admire him for attempting it.
I was wondering if anyone of you how I can contact Dr. Lambden. An email address would suffice. If you can help me, please email me personally, rather than posting on the internet.
I was wondering about something he has posted on his website,

"The Bāb himself stated that there should be forty two verses in each surah of the QA". As a good scholar should, Dr. Lambden proves a reference to several works by the Bab which support this position.
However, I would like to know if Dr. Lambden can reconcile those words with this statement of Shoghi Effendi, "This work, comprising above nine thousand three hundred verses, and divided into one hundred and eleven chapters, each chapter a commentary on one verse of the above-mentioned súrih..." God Passes By, page 23. For if each surah has 42 verses, the total number of verses would not exceed (42 x 111) = 4662 verses. Although, it is worth nothing that the Guardians number would tally with Dr. Lambden's, if it were doubled (4662 x 2) = 9324.

I think it best that people not contact Dr. Lambden unless they have specific correspondence he'd be interested in, because he has very little time to answer questions. Some health issues cause his energy to be somewhat limited. Similarly, don't hold your breath for completion of the translation. He plugs away at it bit-by-bit over the years, much like we all do with our personal projects. But if you would like me to pass a note on to him, just email me privately.
