The claim to finality over the word seal is often used various religious groups. Some Christians claim that no revelation will come after Jesus.

"Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him." John 6:27 (NKJV)

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
Timothy 2:19 (NKJV)

If Muhammad was the last messenger. Then how could Jesus return as written in some Hadith? If the Mahdi returns with the authority of God could he not dispute with the divines and reinterpret the traditions. Does he not act on behalf of Gods Will?

He promised all men that they shall attain unto His own presence in the Day of Resurrection. In this He meant to emphasize the greatness of the Revelation to come, as it hath indeed been manifested through the power of truth. And there is of a certainty no paradise greater than this, nor station higher, should ye reflect upon the verses of the Qur'án. Blessed be he who knoweth of a certainty that he shall attain unto the presence of God on that day when His Beauty shall be made manifest."

Since we are discussing Islam, we will limit ourselves to that. As regards the Christians, they came for a debate with the Holy Prophet, accepted his superiority, did not accept Islam but yet, agreed to the conditions laid down by the prophet. This incident is referred to in the 55th verse of chapter 5 of the Quran.

And its just not about Islam - you are quoting a translation of some verses of the Bible - whereas in the quran, we know that the word Khatam and its usage in the Quran and in regular use in Arabic.

Lastly, as per Islamic belief, Jesus is alive - again read the verse of Quran about that. When he returns, he will return as Jesus and the universally accepted belief amongst Muslims is that he will pray namaz behind the Mahdi. Jesus when he returns will be bound by the laws of Hazrat Mohammed. That is why his reappearance does not undermine the position of hazrat Mohammed (pbuh) as the last Messenger. Jesus will not return with a new law that will abrogate Islam.

Hope that is clear to you.

Regards,

I think what Argos presents is very relevant. He starts off the topic by saying:

"The claim to finality over the word seal is often used various religious groups. Some Christians claim that no revelation will come after Jesus."

A few hadith maybe? Then we can find our own and compare.
